System services
Payments paid or levied by SONI and EirGrid to securely operate the grid.
Ancillary services and other system charges
Certain charges are levied outside the Single Electricity Market by the TSOs. For the island of Ireland, this is SONI and EirGrid.
Most of these are related to ancillary services costs. These costs are for services necessary to operate and restore the electricity system. There are also other system charges to incentivise optimum performance of connected generators.
