System services testing
The different system services compliance testing procedures for each unit type.
System services
Providing units can apply to contract with us to provide system services. To receive a contract, units must show their capabilities through the compliance and testing processes.
Existing service providers who want to contract for enhanced capabilities must also show these enhanced capabilities. These testing requirements are in addition to the standard Grid Code tests.
There is no derogation process if a unit is unsuccessful in completing a system services test.
Testing documents
The following list provides the different testing documentation, both generally and specific to your unit technology type.
Unit updates or testing
Units must submit a suitable load profile request form before making changes. This includes changing their characteristics, software upgrades, or carrying out testing.
These are the load profile request form for each unit type:
Battery energy storage systems
Signal lists
We issue signal lists for each type of unit. These templates include the signals required for system services.

System services compliance procedures and reports
This lists the compliance procedures for the different technologies. Please make sure your unit technology type matches with the compliance procedures.
A system services scope document is to be submitted two business days following confirmation of test date. It should outline the services the unit wishes to contract for, including a detailed plan and timeline of how they will achieve these goals.
A checklist is to be submitted with each report to ensure all required aspects of a complete report are met.
The system services reserve curve tool assists in developing the relevant system services reports.
